I am after some of the above 🙂
Got to be firm (non flexy soles) as I get a numbness in my toes* from the current flexion with my Shimano MT40's (?)
Not after disco shoes and definitely after practicality over pose appeal 🙄
What are the recommendations? Would prefer shoe rather than boot though.
Many thanks,
Mark
*This has been an ongoing thing for a while now (read years) and the only part of my riding I have yet to change are my shoes.
Not sure what sort of style you're after ("not disco shoes" ?) but I've just started using Northwave (Lizzards) and they are a revelation. So comfortable.
you sure it's the shoes flexving causing the toe problem?
I used to get cramp in the arch of my foot and my toes and in the end it was because I was unconciously 'clenching' my toes when ridign.
Sidi. Nothing better. Pricey but last and last and last...
Apologies - Am after them for off road use. The disco comment was regarding the new wave of white Mavic shoes @£200 a pair 😯
Will have a look at the Sidi range and the Northwave Lizards.
Cheers,
Mark
Lizzards. My spelling's not that bad 😉
I bloody hate those yellow Mavic things too.
Shimano working well for me, 5 pairs over 18 years (last ages)
After trying on plenty, I went for a set of Specialised BG Sports
Not too expensive and really comfy. I find too many brands are too narrow in the forefoot but the Specialized were perfect. I don't notice I'm wearing them (apart from when I put my foot in an icy puddle after forgetting to wear the Sealskinz). They are well ventilated so need a softshell or sealskinz type sock if it's wet or very cold.
Used Northwaves for years - quality is very good and very comfy (for a rigid soled shoe)
I've a pair of NW Lizzards too. Nice shoes, with a 2 year guarantee as well. Lost the little yellow toes studs pretty rapidly, tighten or Loctite them if you are bothered but they are well below the quality of proper studs if you need such things.
