I can find segments. Can I find out where other people are riding locally?
Years back when I moved to the area I hooked up with some people who showed me some nice sandy trails between Effingham and Ashtead. I know the general that we were but I've never found the exact trails.
Would Strava help? I'm not a paying subscriber.

Yes...join up, do some segment searching in the area you want, find folk who show up regularly on the leader boards then follow/stalk them 😀

Heat Map also -- usually more road than trails, but heavily used trails show up too.

At maximum zoom, it's possible to see quite alot with strava heat map.

Find a good segment, look at the top ten, follow through to the ride they did to get there. Download the Gpx
