Took the bike for a rip along the cycle path tonight and it feels ace! - Just perfect and like i've been riding it for years.
Went for an XL ( im 6' 3" with long legs! ) and it feels perfect, a L would have been a bit small.
Forks are only temporary, hence the long brake cable, so waiting til a get some nice bouncy ones to trim it.

Its nice but the Little Tykes Space-Ship stem cap is a bit flashy. Does it not get in the way ?

Agree with the stem top cap comment tho, that will defo get in ur way, is it a mask or to stop mud?... Actually.. I know what it is, it is a dust catcher as you will still be eating mine! Whooooosh!

Looks good Alan, mines got the same colour scheme apart from white rims and white RS SID forks, should be building it up on Saturday.

Nice build, you won't be disappointed. Rode mine for the first time on Tuesday and it was sweeeeet.
Let me know how it rides with rigid forks as I may head that way over winter.

quentinfarquar - Got the Pauls chain keeper from Jenson USA.
It cost me £46.99, then had to pay £6.09 VAT and £8 Royal Mail International handling fee.
Not cheap, but nicely made and managed to set it up running 1 x 10 with no rubbing 🙂

Depends on what riding you will be doing on it mate?
I've been running 1 x 9 on my SC Nomad for years now and get up most climbs.

I opted for 1 x 10 because overall look is much neater.
Im running a 11-36 cassette with a 34T chainring, this should get me up trail centre climbs (will need to wait til a week Saturday to find out! )
Already tried on cycle paths around my local area and get plenty speed! - So for me an excellent range of gears 🙂
Looks lovely. I reckon you should leave shifters and the other brake off - they will only spoil the clean lines.
If it were mine, I'd de-sticker the rims, too - they're a bit shouty for me.
Also, incredibly sad, I know but what a tidy chainstay protector. Nice.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, im on the market for suspension forks for the Solaris now, so the carbon rigid's may only be on another month or so 🙂 Want 120mm travel, tapered steerer and 15 / 20mm bolt thru
Any advise?

Got to be white mate, oh and it's "advice" boggles. Sorry to be a pain, that on annoys me though. Not as much as the "I brought it new.. No you BOUGHT it new"
Anyway I'm going off on a tangent now. Get white forks dude, you know it makes sense and white forks are faster... FACT!

Does doing this keep the axle to crown length the same?
If it does and only limits travel by 20mm, i think the front end would be too high..............
The Solaris is actually designed around a 100mm fork.
No it drops the fork height. Currently running my 34s at 100mm.

This is my Solaris with white forks, only 100mm though. I nearly went for Marzocchi forks though that can be set at 100/120/140mm
