Got an old steel road frame, was going to get it professionally sprayed until I put a right big dent in the top tube. So now I am going to tart it up myself as its not worth shelling out for a new tube - any way to fill in the dent to get some semblance of tubeness back before I paint it?

How big and bad? I use car body filler.

Ring up Argos racing cycles and ask what they use?

its not very deep, but the top tube is kind of flattened for a good 4-5cm and looks ugly. Car body filler sounds about right, was going to get it sprayed at bob jacksons, so might be worth asking if they do that sort of thing.

You can get it filled with silver solder / brazing and then sanded back. Makes a better finish in the end from what ive seen.
