I've got an Emtb, and I'm lucky enough to have 3 other hardtail mtbs that do very specific other things that definitely require their ownership. 😉
Since owning an Emtb, I feel like it's raised this slight quandary in what I choose to ride and that maybe it has slightly spoiled my relationship to my other, non-powered bikes which I still love and want to enjoy.
I was planning a ride today and to an area I hadn't been to before and looking at a few routes other people had recorded on OS Maps, I guess I had the choice of doing a much longer ride with much more elevation and taking the Emtb, or plumping for a shorter ride that I think my out of practise energy levels can take and enjoying the steel hardtail.
In the end I took my hardtail but I find that my being human was maybe steering me towards what would undoubtedly have been the easier(and possibly more fun for exploring) option. Fewer miles but more effort in my eventual choice.
Anyone else who owns an Emtb and an MTB finding that same kind of feeling kicking around your head?Â
Has an Emtb changed your relationship to riding at all?
Do you have to fight the power?
I absolutely loved it on the hardtail today. It's sometimes hard coming from an ebike to a bike I find but It was so light, so quiet but, I'm friggin knacked! 🙂
Not got one, but ridden a couple and I can absolutely see the appeal. However, if I did buy one then I'd never ride the other bike and that would be a waste, so I'm not buying an ebike.
I’ve ordered a Decoy MX (on Clyclescheme) but still think I’ll ride my hardtail regularly. If I’m on my own or with other e-bikes it’s Turbo Time, but my brothers and a few friends have normal bikes so when out with them it’ll be meat-powered riding.Â
Most of my heroes don't appear on no stamps.
