I will be passing through the area next weekend and was hoping to get a ride in. Realistically I just want about 2 hours or 20km riding so what are the options?
A quick Google suggests that the red is 34km so that probably is out. Is there anything else I could do that's worth doing?
You don't have to do the whole red. Get the trail map and chop off the furthest sections using fire road
You can do the red in about 2hrs 30 if you go for it. Well I can, others can do it much quicker.
If you download the trail map it's pretty straightforward to follow the red to Dixons Hollow then follow the road for a bit to cut off about a third.
There are other options but that's probably easiest, and should be a couple of hours.
Is the black route still there? It's not marked on FC map.
There's the black WC route around Dixons, and a few little diversions off the red.
