Well done. I fell off bad stylee on Saturday evening. Separated shoulder. Jumped the queue at A&E by passing out at the reception desk and clanging my head on the radiator. I came to surrounded by staff and got taken straight through on a wheelchair.

I bet your jaw hurts more than my shoulder right now, but at least you'll be back on the bike sooner! Unless you've done more than the jaw?

Ew. Teeth? How are they?

Teeth won't meet.

Hit head on right hand side, broke jaw on left somehow.

Didn't know what day it was for a while

5 weeks ago I was nearly in your situation... got away with teeth through upper lip and split chin, so feel for you.

As for surgery, if they are using plates, will you settle for titanium? will you demand carbon? or in true niche STW way, see if they can source some old skool steel?

Ah, the Hallamshire, many happy hours in the A&E queue! Actually they weren't all that happy...
On one occasion when I dislocated my shoulder , the doctor turned out to have married my ex girlfriend . I thought I might be in for some extra pain but he shot me full of pethedrine and all was well. They very soon divorced!

I suppose that means you won't be needing a guide for Epping this week! Lightweight.

generally speaking due to the nature of the jaw bone you'll break it in two places, one where the impact was and then the other side as the impact travels through and round and the thinness cant hold on so well done only breaking it in one place! No matter what anyone says, such as 'why dont you blend down some...' its all soup and you'll learn to despise it as I did but you're in for some greeeeeeeat weight loss when you get sick of eating soup! I was lucky enough to smash out three teeth as well so I atleast had a small hole to get baby pasta and a straw through!

Did mine Christmas 2014. It *is* possible to blend mince pies.

The swelling (of your face) gets truly impressive over the next day or two. Make sure you get photos.

Weird outcome still true to this day is I feel slightly separated from my face. Rather than being an intrinsic part of my personality it now feels like a bolt on appendage (which, technically, it is).

I admire your confidence to make no attempt at taking a decent photo whatsoever 🙂

You look like Jeff Bridges in Iron Man, had he been a cross-dresser that got whacked with a bar of plutonium around the mush.

Get well soon!

Was it done attempting something gnarly or not paying attention riding the simple?

Not too gnarly, but fast and a bit technical. Not sure which bit it happened on, but have an idea. Was trying to re-take a KOM!

Had a bell super 2r, but sold it as it was too big. Will be getting another one now!
