[#7015458]

I'm putting on a beer and outdoor videos session at the weekend along the lines of the Banff Film Festival, so was wondering what people's favourite clips are? Don't necessarily need to be MTB - anything outdoors will do, but need to be in 1080 HD (4k even better!!), and 5-15 mins in length.

What's your fav?

It'll cost you about 3 quid to view it, and it's longer than you want, but... but... but I loved 'North of the Sun' (It's was in the Banff festival last year):

"Crossing the ice" is a brilliant film, one of my all time favourites.

"And then we swam" is in a similar vein, 2 brits rowing the Indian Ocean with zero experience.

If you want an off beat skiing film, "T'es pas bien la? (Downside up)" is brilliantly bonkers, brilliantly shot, lighthearted look at some extremely serious skiing. cost you EUR/USD 9 for the film download. Well worth it.

Ned, do you known if there is a download (official, I'd like to pay for it) for crossing the ice? Not been able to find one and I don't france the costs of buying from aus.

Does dogging count as an outdoor activity?

Cheers for the ideas - happy to pay for stuff if it's good, although having been to Banff for the last 2 years, most of the people who are coming round will have seen those two. Will check out the skiing one too.

Dogging def off limits - 8yr old also viewing!!

Probably (certainly) not appropriate for your evening, but I just found this and thought it was absolutely fascinating.

I kept laughing through it, at some parts it feels like a spoof, at others an overhammed advertorial (it's certainly promotional), and at others you feel like maybe he's onto something. He's certainly very earnest about the whole thing.

Motors aren't probably in, (despite cars, 'planes or heli's being involved in pretty much all of them) but this is a beautifully shot study of a long, arduous, mentally and physically demanding outdoors event over 6 days in the Scottish highlands. reset logo may be a bit big, depending on your artistic concerns for the event?

and by the same filmers, this one of a coast to coast adventure race.

watch to the end, you'll be glad you did!

and with Hans 'n' Danny (No Way! and Megaskills) in the Italian Alps, how can you go wrong?

Who are reset films?

Not sure how to report bugs to the mods but on my iPhone iOS8.3 on both Safari and Chrome, when I click on Video or URL to insert something, the browser crashes

Might be that it's just my phone but I've cleared cache, reset device and it still happens

"North of the Sun" is well worth a watch.
Its about two surfers who build a cabin on a secluded beach somewhere in Scandinavia & spend the winter there.
Well worth a watch. 😉

Some cracking ideas here - much appreciated.

North of the Sun was at the 2013 Banff festival, and was one of the highlights - brilliant story both touching and amusing. Most of the people coming over were at Banff, so will save this one for another session. Likewise Crossing the Ice.
Touch - one of the Banff highlights from this year. V cool!

If people are interested, am happy to include the full list of what I end up showing.
