[#3974773]

Despite having my rear brake recently serviced by my lbs they are still seem to be losing pressure if left. I have to constantly pump the lever to get it to work.

Even when they work it's not brilliant.

The brakes are Shimano XT approx 4 years old.

Any suggestions on how I can remedy the problem

Cheers

Take the pads out, can you see any fluid weeping at the seals of the pistons.

What about the reservoir on the lever? I assume there's no oil weeping out or you'd see it, but take the cap off and see if the rubber seal/bladder is damaged or split. Make sure you rotate the lever horizontal before you take the cap off.

I'll try looking at the resevoir tomorrow. Can you get a new seal?

Don't know sorry. Probably, try the LBS you had it serviced at, (and it is damaged you can have a mild complain at the same time!)
