[#7507080]

So after buying into the concept of a go anywhere steamroller completely the other side to my Five which is my sketchy try not to kill myself scary rider.
I read with interest the thread with fatties under 1k , but fancied something with front sus and a decent spec to it , After having a good look on the On one website their Trail Fatty is looking very very nice Blutos 120m and reverb but not tubeless ready rims ,Where as the Cube Nutrail Is a few £100 cheaper without the verb but ready rims

Anyone fancy helping decide and point me into whats best to look for apart from colour as a new wardrobe might be pushing it .

I've just gone beargrease and it's my go to ride for everything. It's light and fast and nimble for a fatbike I love it.

The fact that the Tusker are out of stock just goes to show how much better they are to the on one.......I got one after a member on here recommended it.....and his Tusker has the bluto upgrade

The Canyon Dude is coming back into stock for next year.

Prices seem to have gone up by £500 which is a bit crap.

The weakest point of the O-O are the wheels and tyres, so factor that into your budget - decent tyres and tubeless makes a huge difference to how the bike rides. A decent pair of tyres and rims will set you back a further £300.

Obv it's pronounced Nu-trail no-one would ever walk into a shop and ask them about a Cube Nut Rail *cough*

OP what about a Spesh Fatboy, Nu-trail, Fat CAAD or Scott and Mondraker's fat bikes.

Now fat bikes aren't niche there are quite a few traily fatties around

They should though. As often as possible. 🙂

I got the Rose Tusker. The build totalled £1453 for the base bike plus the following upgrades:

XT brakes, with IceTech discs.[/*]

XT mech and shifter[/*]

Reverb Stealth[/*]

Bluto[/*]
With P&P it comes to about £1500

The rims have given me the most grief of anything I've tried to tubeless, but I've done it by using some thick closed cell foam with an adhesive backing to create a channel for the tyre bead to sit in.

On one wheels are fine, certainly strong enough for how I ride, but tubeless conversions need a ghetto tube and the original skewers need changing as they are downright dangerous.

I'd buy a fat bike designed around the bluto so the bb and geo is sorted, so the fatty trail is not only on your doorstep but satisfies this and is a keen price.

Given the £150 eBay frame price, I think I'd buy that one, add a bluto and build your own wheels on either oo, salsa or hope hubs.
