it is - i meant for the value of the freewheeled hub, bolts and cog as opposed to the cost of converting my existing xt hub that had already been considered.

i have been trying one of the pompetamine's out for a couple of weeks. this has to be the perfect comuter and all round bike. i am running it with alfine 8 speed and LX deore disc. i had a pompino before and think that their was nowt to beat it until i tried the pompetamine. i am going to do the hathersage hilly on it in july just to prove that it is an all round bike.

i will be the fat bloke at the back!

😀

So what is a Pompetamine anyway?

Is it like a blowjob on speed?

Anyone who has seen one know if there is space for 35 C cross tyres and guards? Just thinking about an ultimate commuter and weekend cyclocross machine. Would be a faff removing mudguards!

that's a shame - the suggestion a while back was that they'd be the same price as the normal pomp. apparently their being the same price is the intro offer.

Complete bike is up on the site now @ £799. Not a bad price I reckon!

What size frame? : I'm 5'8" with 29" inside leg.

If I get one I'll have to sell my FSR 🙁

Full bike is a bargain at that price with alfine. Have ordered frame and fork though as have most of the required parts except a bb to build one up in the garage.

anyone? i just need to know which of these to order:
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=17473

🙂

having said that, are there any decent and importantly cheap single ring isis cranks/ring setups i might consider while i'm doing the swap? cheap and good (the impossible dream!) is important here! (edit - or octalink, if an option)

most likely 68mm, you'll probably need wider spindle than you currently run unless your existing pomp is 135mm spaced.

I built the back wheel last week, so I should have a disco pimpy Pompino by the end of Monday 🙂

I'm holding out until Alfine 11 arrives, which should allow time to get together the rest of the bits, so pics will be a while.....

Same as Bristolbiker, mine's gonna be a long term build too. Am currently thinking I'll wait til Alfine 11 comes out so gives me plenty of time to get bits together.

For the record tho...I'm building mine up with a 2009 Brawn GP colour scheme, so I don't wanna see anything similar! 🙂

(Mark - hope you're gonna put some pics up on Facebook of your build or email some to me...looking forward to seeing yours!)

Status: Order held whilst awaiting stock - Your order is on hold whilst awaiting delivery of a missing item(s).

Don't know what the hold up is on my order as the web site is showing 'lots in stock' of the frame, fork and handlebars that I've ordered 😕

Lol Kev! There's always money for bikes (just means we have to eat off bread and beans every day...it's a price I'm willing to pay) 😀
