Hi all,
I fancy a 29er and have a choice of either a Scott Scale 29er or a Genesis Mantle 30.
Does anyone have experience of either? I do mainly trail riding so i'm thinking the Genesis might be more suitable with it's slackish head angle... (although the Scott isn't exactly steep @ 69.5deg)... The scott has better forks and seems light for the money (11.7kg), i'm not sure what the Genesis weighs...
Any help appreciated! I'm looking for get either over the weekend and have a blast out on Sunday ๐ Cheers
No experience of either, but other than the headangle, the scott is quite close to the whyte 729 I test rode going by geo. I found it a great bike, so much so I bought its bigger brother, but just working from figures I'd suggest the Genesis will be more fun (shorter stays & slacker head) and the Scott my XC flavoured. I was hugely tempted by the Hi Lat but couldn't wait, as they were messing around delivery times.
No doubt both would be good bikes, try to test both if you can?
Cheers for that. Yep, i'm looking to test both of them this weekend, the trouble is that it'll only be around a car park! I'm currently thinking the Mantle might suit me better as it looks tougher therefore will be able to handle my sh*te line picks better ๐
