Good job I cleaned my bike as I noticed that the drive side bearing had worked loose...
I wizzed off the chainset and screwed the bearing back on again and refitted the chainset but it appears that there is a gap (about 3-4mm) between the chainset and the bearing face.
Should it look like that?
I couldn't get the chainset through any more, not even with some "persuasion"

Nope, shouldn't be like that, was going to suggest a missing frame spacer but that would still allow it to sit flush on one side or the other.Bear inmind that the axle is an interference fit in the bearings, so may need a touch more than gentle persuasion.
