Is the maxx-d worth £50 more than the toro? Both newest variants.
Will be paired with a mk 12 joystick on the helmet.
Not much info around on the newer toro beam pattern as far as I can see. Earlier versions were said to be a bit narrow for the bars but has that changed with the newer ones?

Can't help. With the same choice I went Maxx-D for the extra capacity but I'm pretty sure I'd have been fine with the Toro.

On long winter rides id prefer the maxxd

So sounds like like I would probably wouldn’t die if I used the toro but the Maxx D offers a touch more usability.
maxx d is great, although far too bright for the road, my mate is happy with his toro though.
