Been looking at a Canyon Nerve Al+ and have read the odd complaint about customer service in the past. Just wondered if anyone has had a recent experience and what are the bikes like to live with in the real world?

I have had one for a year and really like it. I think you tend to hear more of the complaints. I would recommend one.

I've got the AL+ 7.0 and love it. Bought in December and was spot on. One of the brakes needed bleeding but just a minor issue. Really glad I bought it

I've got a strive, delivery was bang on time, I had a problem with the reverb so I emailed them, they got back to me the same day and arranged for it to go to Fisher UK for repair. I posted it, Fisher repaired it and sent it back to me, was away just over a week. Canyon refunded the postage costs as well. I wouldn't have had it back any quicker if I'd done it through a LBS.
The only issue I've ever had is that they don't seem to have anyone to answer the phone, but they always respond quickly to email.
The bike is awesome, by the way. Absolutely love it!

I have last years nerve am which I reckon looks a bit better than this years model. My only gripe with the bike is the head angle is pretty steep. Can feel like you are right out over the front of the bike at times.

I've tried to order bikes from them twice and both times the delivery date went back and back and back until I just cancelled it. They seem to turn up a lot more promptly if you wait until they're actually in stock.

Good bikes though. I'd have one if I could actually get my hands on one.

I serviced a Canyon hardtail for a mate recently. A few things struck me
It was very plain and simple in construction. Plain white, black lettering, minimal shaping of the tubes, but it didn't need to be anything more than what it was. Well made, workmanlike
For the money it was bloody good value and thoughtfully specced.
I'd seriously consider one. ๐Ÿ™‚

Like Twin above I also have a Strive and pretty much had the exact same experience- right down to the reverb.

Best bike I've ever owned, really happy with it. Can't argue with the price either, I could ride it for 2 years and then probably make more than I paid breaking it and selling the components!

Works Components have released a headset to fix that. You can do -1.5 or -2 degrees effective. I've picked up a -1.5 for my 2011 Nerve AM, but not fitted it yet cos I'm getting the fork and shock serviced.

I like my Nerve AM, not had any problems with it (other than the usual rider-overestimating-own-skills incidents).

Had a 29er from them. Sold it, bought the Carbon fibre version. Fantastic mile eater, silly light and more capable than I am. Had a problem with the forks on the alu version, I posted them away to DT Swiss UK, they fixed them, maybe took a little longer than an LBS. But the VFM is incredible.
