I'm off to Exmoor and the Brendons in a few weeks, staying near Dunster. Can anyone point me in the direction of a few riding 'highlights' in the area so I can string some routes together for a couple of days riding please?

Also any good pubs (preferably with local cider) for lunch stops?

Ta!

I had a day out from porlock last weekend, highlights were bridle way from top of porlock hill back down to porlock, Dunkery beacon descent and screamer of a descent down from selswerthy beacon.

OS Map

Dunkery, Horner, Porlock
Selworthy, North Hill

Very hilly but worth it for the excellent singletrack.

if you log onto 'pompeys cycle shop' in Minehead there are a couple of routes.

Try Exford, Bridleway over to Aldermans Barrow, down past Larkbarrow, down into Badgworthy water [Doone valley] Malmsmead[café there] down valley on road couple of miles then back over South Common, back past Larkbarrow finishing going down Stone Lane and back to Exford. 20miles + all good riding
