[#2658291]

I'm looking for a an XL frame with a low bb, long toptube to use with coil pikes and a 50mm stem etc iscg and ssability also important

My worries are that BPx and Sov have high bbs and short tts- can any one confirm or deny? I've not seen any ride reports of the Pace - any opinions?

Can the STW massive help me decide which one to get?

The stw massive will tell you to avoid pace on principle as their customer service is some of the worst in the industry. I'd certainly choose anything else over a pace as a matter of principle.

Even if (on paper) their frame ticks all my boxes and nothing else does?

Yes, in my experience avoid Pace unless you place little value on your cash! They will certainly never see another penny of mine.

How tall mate?? Im 6.3 and had a xl sov liked it bit of a tank!! but other than that a very nice ride, did'nt notice issue with b/b though and i ride santa cruz full sus and am always clipping peddals on them lol. Now on a lrg cotic bfe much nicer frame lighter much more what i would call ping in the rear end (dame thing just flys on the down hills) run it with 150mm travel forks all round great bike! It is by far the closest frame in feel and ride ive come across since a ti hard tail i had (dekerf inplant) which was probably 6/7 time the cost plus it's more than £200 less than the evil you are considering!. Note regards fit they seem to fit pretty much the same to me bearing in mind evil qoute vurtual toptube length on there frames so im sure the xl is 24.8 but straight lines at nearer 24inchs same as the bfe!!! which ever you choose, for me go the steel frame route over ally only because ive found the compliance much more fun to ride and you feel less beaten up after a long/hard ride! but then the last ally hardtail frame i rode was a santa cruz cham and there quit a hard rear end lol.
Hope this helps a smidge.

Bats.

I thought about a bfe but at 6ft5, they're just too small - shame they don't make an xl

I'd be very surprised if it would be too small at 6'5". I'm 6'4" and ride a large soda, which is comfortably big enough for long xc rides. A friend of mine who is about the same hight rides a medium bfe as a play bike and it doesn't look of feel too small (apparently). Try one out if you haven't already. I think you'll be surprised.

I'm going on emails from cotic, plus I've have had bikes that are on the small side in the past and learned my lessons - I can always drop the saddle but not lengthen the top tube (without effing up the handling).

Going to try and test a pace 325.5, might have to add a chumba hx1 to the list.

I'm 6'5, fancied a cotic soul, the guys at cotic said it wouldn't fit me.
I've got an Orange P7 21"
Fits great.
Long top tube.
Low BB.
ISCG 05 tabs.
