Booked an uplift day for 5th March, but notice it now coincides with one of these Mini-Enduro events.
We only ride the Blues usually but worried it's going to be mega busy. Run on blacks & reds according to the race organisers site, so probably ok for us old plodders.
Anyone ridden there when there's an event on ?
No word of it when we booked way back.
Hoping it's not going to mean big queues for the uplift vans.
Email them and express your concern.
Last year the place was rammed and only competitors were allowed on site with other having to park in the town
Would be a shame to miss out on some of the best trails there
Phew, just checked and I'm booked on for the Sunday.
Sounds like a right PITA.
Competitors can't use the buses but Last year they closed Dai hard which is a black,
And both reds to non competitors, personally I'd rearrange if possible.
Thanks all.
I called BPW but they couldn't say what trails, & wether the uplift buses would any busier.
TBH they weren't much help.
But peed that they didn't contact us once the event was organised, as we all booked on the day the bookings opened.
Will have a chat with the others in our group.
Not fussed about it being busy but if it means the lift queues are huge I'd sooner re-book.
Tbh it doesn't matter if the queues are long, they won't oversell day uplift passes (which take priority) , and the drivers only take singles if there's space. Yes the cafe / car park will be rammed, but if you've booked a days uplift it shouldn't effect the actual shuttle service too much.
Did the race last year and competitors can't use the uplift bus, so you should be fine there. It'll be sold out for the uplift though, it always is, so not exactly mega quiet but they do run a great service, won't have to wait long, enjoy......
BPW staff (most of them at least) are mega unhelpful.
Trails aren't worth it for the vile commercialism of the place.
I know a lot of other people have all sorts of other gripes about the place as well.
Thankfully, I'm moving to Scotland next month and couldn't be happier about that!
Why would the bus be busier? Races can't use the bus so I would think the bus would be quiet.
Bit OTT there pilot !! Nobodies making you ride there. You certainly don't have to go to Scotland to avoid it ๐ Imho it's great fun and as it us a commercial venture a bit of commercialism is to be expected. Miles and miles of S.Wales natural trails you could ride for free ๐
Nobody's
How did it go?
It was as busy as ever in the car park but I did the event so the used trails were all as ment to be for competitors.

Wow what a grumpy over reaction
If you think you can do better, get digging
Did the race too, think I'd have been a bit miffed if I'd paid for an uplift day + petrol etc and found some of the trails off limits.
The parking was a bit of a joke too, chaos!
Having had bad experiences with the food there before I didn't fancy risking the cafe with 300 extra viitors so took a pack lunch, anyone try a burger? last one I had had the texture of a dual ply tyre
Agreed, it would of been a bad day for non competitors
