have a go at a 200k hilly Audax, it will be good training.
I've done two before (2007, 2009). Normally I'd eschew such silliness, but there is something about the Pyeresourde that's got me itching to do another.
Although given my currently parlous state of strength and fitness, god knows how I'll get the training time in....
I did the one in 2004 - Limoges - St Flour. Was 250km of hilly loveliness.
I highly recommend it, great fun and the 13mph broom wagon is not so bad, you would have to be pretty unfit or have total disaster mechanicals in the firt few k.
Although there is nothing in the UK that can prepare you for the continuous climbing for extended periods. Get a triple !!
Did Alpe Du Huez last year and it was amazing.
I really want to do both this year, but I think due to holidays etc... i'l only be able to do the second. Looks like a proper epic!
