Working near St Albans next week, a quick map recon shows Epping Forest just down the M25, is there access/parking near to the Motorway Junction ? will I need a chest of doubloons for a ticket machine ?

Parking yes, tea hut yes, free yes.
If you haven't ride there you will need a guide to get the best out of it. When are you thinking (it's my locale).
Epping forest is ok to ride around have to search a bit to find the better singletrack stuff though, there are a gazillion car parks which are all free I think.
Watch out for people on horses who think they own the place but can't even control their horse though.
