My Fox Van R's leaked like crazy during a weekend away riding last year, haven't ridden them since.

On taking them apart to give them service I found the tell tale stanchion wear of neglect! Not only is there the obvious wear, but there are also two quite pronounced grooves.

So, what's the general thinking?

Attempt a repair, or just fit the new seals, foam rings, oil etc. and hope for the best?

If attempting a repair I was wondering whether some epoxy metal putty might give a better long lasting repair.
