A mate of mine fancies himself an MTB, I've tried to suggest that he spend nearer £500 for an entry level MTB. However he's tight as a gnat's chuff and as stubborn as a Mule.
So, whats around out there for £300? My mate reckons he can get the Voodoo Bantu for £300 and tbh I can't see him getting any better for that money. Any more suggestions?

Personally if it were me I'd go for a rigid MTB as suspension forks are always crap at that price, but can you still get a rigid MTB!?
Cheers.

I'd be looking for something second hand, maybe an Inbred or something

the Voodoo's probably a good bet - Halfords do seem to be knockign bikes out cheap currently.

There was someone the other week saying thjey got a cracking deal on a 2010 Voodoo Bantu, they also said the spec was better on the 2010 rather than the 2011.

Here is the tread

Ex hire is not a bad way to go. i got an ex hire kona hardtail for £400. Good spec for the money and have had no problems with it.
