So - just about ridable with the clearance to the arch - but I'm interestd to see what hapens if you bottom out the fork - does the top crown hit the tyre?

Having the front wheel stop dead right when you bottom out can be a tricky one

@HG

Have considered that but haven't tested it yet.

That's a 3.0" Nobby Nic. Fork is rated for a 2.8" so hopefully it would be ok crown wise.

It would depend on your vector, Victor.

Often when questions like this come up I answer "I would ride that but wouldn't advise other people to", In this case I wouldn't ride that...

Are you aware that when one part of the tyre compresses, another will expand?

Not by much, but it might be enough to spoil your day.

Interesting responses.

A quick Google image search brings up many pictures and related pages showing people claiming to ride tyre/fork combo's with similar, and in some cases less, clearance to the arch.

I've just checked the arch clearance on the 2.8" NN I've been running in my Mattoc for months, with zero problems, and it's very similar.

I think I'll give it a go.
