I need to replace all my bearing on my Patrol. I can buy a kit from MB Bearings for £43 or if I buy Enduro Max versions it's about £90.

Is the price difference worth it?

I've used Enduro bearings before. They didn't last any longer than any other bearings so I wouldn't personally pay a premium for them. I'm no bearing expert though and it depends how much crud you expect to get in your bearings as to whether you want to buy expensive ones or not. If it's going to get muddy a lot then I'd buy cheap.

Shop around a bit. £90 seems a bit steep unless they are unusual sizes as I doubt they will last twice as long.

Thanks I'll skip Enduro Max and get the cheaper ones, I'll take a look at Kinetic now.

Enduro bearings in my Rallon have lasted well, I'd buy again

Enduro Max bearing on my Yeti SB5c were rubbish. Some were completely seized after less 1500 miles. Unfortunately some of the cartridges have unusual flanges on them, making it difficult to find alternatives.

My experience with Enduro Max bearings wasn't great; the pivot bearings lasted half the time of the originals and the BB bearings barely lasted 2 months (HT2).

I buy Hope stainless whenever I can now, as I know they'll be top end INA or equivalent.

Pivot bearings die because they get full of crud, not because they wear from rotating. The most important thing to do is fully pack with grease before fitting whatever you buy ime

FWIW a Max bearing is designed for higher loads so for frames they are better than a standard 2RS bearing which are better for hubs and you require less friction. Bearing lifetime varies greatly on how they are looked after, how and where they are placed in frames as some frames are notorious for putting all the crap off the trails where the pivots are and where the bearings sit - Yeti for one. So I would avoid any standard 2RS bearing for frames because of the intended use.

As said, whichever you get, pack them full of marine grease.👍

I get the theory but in practice EnduroMax bearings seem to die quickly

Another for kinetic bearings .they use cageless bearings with bigger balls not in a cage .
They also sell the llu and llb versions as mentioned above
Chrome vanadium is stronger than stainless
Stainless is better in hubs as are std rs bearings made of stainless steal
I also get good life out of my hope bearings made by ina but only in the hubs
I've had enduro bearings last week's and some years but I've had the most success with kinetics and there such a good price .

While we are talking bearings should I replace my Hope hub bearings with ceramic?

Just get normal bearings and spend the money you've saved on a decent bearing press.
