Hi,

I have been a fan of Endura shorts for a while, seem to be comfortable and fairly decent value. I have two pairs of Humvees, both in unimaginative black.

Due to the ongoing monsoon season and impending birthday, I thought I would ask for a pair of 3/4 Spray Baggies (MT500, see link above). They have a semi waterproof butt pad, which hopefully will keep my grapes dry.

Does anyone know how these fit compared to a pair of Humvees? I think the cut is supposed to be very similar to their Singletrack model.

I have got the Humvees in size Large, but these are pretty snug around my 34 inch (and expanding, depending upon the meal) waste.

Anyone noticed difference in fit of either singletrack or spray baggy compared to humvee? Endura state M suits 34 inches, but read the reviews of singletrack shorts and they seem to come up a bit small.

I wear 34" trousers, but find L Singletrack and MT500s fit best.

No shop to try them on? It's not like CRC have loads of money off them.

Medium Sprays here, 32in waist, belt pulled in a bit - you may or may not struggle at 34in. Keith at Biketreks did say the fit was different between Humvees and Spray/Singletrack due to different manufacturing lines and he certainly knows his onions when it comes to bike clothing...

By the way, user review - best pair of shorts I've owned for UK riding, why nobody's thought of something like this before for our conditions I don't know; bibs underneath and these on top are perfect for all but the worst weather conditions, for which I've got Gore Paclite shorts (assuming I actually want to go out if the weather's that bad...).

slightly random at best. I'm same as above i.e. 34" waist, and have size large. Try them on at a shop is the best option (oh and then buy them there - bugs me when people try things on then buy the same elsewhere) 😉

I have Humvees in large and Sprays in medium. The Sprays feel more spacious even though they're a size smaller.

I bought some of the shorter ones for the winter but I'm still using them... grrrrr.

32" waist (with thighs like Hoy) and the mediums are fine with the belt done tight.

Thanks for the comments above, very helpful. I do plan to buy them in a shop, just really struggling to find any in stock anywhere to try on/buy!

Will try the old yellow pages advert approach of calling ahead, but if no luck will ask the LBS to order a pair in.

I'm 32 waist and wear the medium which are snug round the waist.

To counter the positive feedback above I personally think they are a good idea poorly executed. My first pair the waterproof seat material delaminated and the tape peeled off so they leaked loads.

The replacement pair lasted all of a couple of months before the waterproof material in the seat again failed. Also they had changed the material in the replacement pair in the top panels to a thicker soft shell from a proper shell fabric. The soft shell material soaks up water like a sponge. I've not even bothered sending this pair back as the replacements will probably be no better.

I now have an awesome pair of Sympatec Maloja shorts which are superior in every respect when the weather is poor.

Did you follow the washing instructions to drip dry or did you tumble dry - the heat of tumble drying will cause the tape to peel (by softening/melting the sealant/glue) and material to de-laminate...

34 and a bit waist.......large fit fine.

dont think I'd buy another pair though...great in the dry weather but still waiting for spray protection to kick in. OK, the butt stays dry for a bit longer but the rest of them soak up water faster than any other shorts I've owned

Have managed to find a pair that seem to fit in Cycle Surgery at lunch time. Will walk around at home in the living room to see if they are a bit tight 😳

Hopefully will be alright (in the medium). Perhaps a few sit ups and some more running is called for anyway.

Did look at fully waterprood Gore ones, but at £120 they were another £50 and I can't get over spending that much on shorts, especially when I have just bought Recon forks for the wife's bike for less!

Always washed at 30 degrees and line dried.

Sadly I've come to the conclusion that a fair bit of Endura kits is poop. Never had any problems with my Gore, Altura etc stuff but most of my Endura kit has developed some sort of fault.

Check out these - reduced from £115 to under £50 with the extra 10% offer code. Very light and breathable - perfect over bib shorts.

^ those Maloja shorts - I thought Sympatex had 'died' many years ago having been proven cr*p. Maybe the years have improved it.
