I've never splashed out on an expensive jacket before but it's nice to treat yourself as winter arrives, helps you get out the door on a dark, windy night.
I've been using it in largely dry weather with all 4 of its zips open for ventilation. It's nice to have a true wind proof to keep the chill away. I just wear a base layer or thin fleece beneath it. I've been so impressed with the quality of everything on it. So much thought has gone into every adjustment.

Today however I took it to the max level and rode 3hrs I torrential rain, through crazy mud and rivers of water. Did all the zips up, cinched the hood over my helmet and got stuck in and I actually stayed relatively dry and warm. What a revelation! After years of suffering, a simple hooded jacket improved my enjoyment enormously. Coupled with reasonably waterproof Madison shorts I didn't really have to worry much about what I was riding through.
Well happy.

Nice one, I got cold and soaked in a Rapha Classic Winter Jacket.

I recently bought the Endura MTR shell jacket, which uses the same Exoshell waterproof fabric and totally agree; for years I’ve been sweating buckets inside ‘breathable’ waterproof jackets, until now. And yes, it’s insanely waterproof too. The only thing it lacks is a couple of pockets, but I guess that’s why the MT500 exists.

They are good and in the right conditions seriously improve a ride. An hour of torrential rain this morning (fully zipped up and hooded) then improving warm-ish sunny weather (all body and pit zips open on the climbs), then toasty at a coffee take away. Finally hosed down at the end. Excellent (with Altura waterproof trousers, DexShell socks and Specialized Defroster boots) came home dry!

Love mine, rarely had the armpit vents closed, even in torrential rain.

But two slight niggles.

The elasticated cuffs can get soaked, wicking water to the inner garments

Body could be a little longer (that might be just my body type though)
