Have bought a pair of Endura knee pads online (I couldn't find any knee pads in local bike shops to buy any pads from and more importantly try for size). I have never bothered wearing these before (mostly ride in the Surrey Hills, so hardly see pads on local trails).
I contacted Endura before buying these and checked comments re: fit on the internet. M/L sizing seemed a bit small - I measured my fat legs and they seemed to be bigger than the measurements for the circumference of top and bottom openings that were emailed by Endura. The measurements they gave me for M/L were 16.5 inch for the top and 13 inch for the shin (where as my tree trunk lardy legs are more like like 18 inch for the top and 15 inch for the shin).
I have plumped for the L/XL. They seem ok but bunch up a bit around the edge of the knee where there is excess material, yet feel snug around the shin and over the top of the knee. Top opening is not tight. Having never worn anything like these before, can anyone comment on how tight they are supposed to be? I presume relatively snug to stop any movement in a fall or rubbing when you are riding, but obviously they have to allow a degree of movement for pedaling. Does anyone own a pair of these pads?
I have bought them for a trip to some rockier routes than I would normally ride, hence the purchase in the first place.
Fwiw, I think all the people who work at Endura are weird shapes, and they all expand in the rain and shrink in the sun.
I have some 661 Kyle pads that are snug top and bottom but have a bit of space around the knee.
