A mate just picked up an old VT Frame from a skip(!), and I couldn't help but notice the similarity...

Besides, isn't that like saying that all hardtails are the same, all single pivots are the same, etc... subtle differences can make a difference to how a bike rides. There are no [b]new[/b] ideas really...
Isn't that an Orange ST4 in the bottom pic matt? 😉

There is only a very limited number of ways of doing rear suspension.
The linkage is pretty similar, though the pivot point is different if you care about such things. The VT pivots just behind and above the BB.
And as said above, VTs were and still are great bikes!
