Looking for a bit of help please...

I have an avid bleed kit which I've used on Juicy's and older elixirs. However when I tried to bleed my new elixirs today the syringe thread doesn't screw into the caliper bleed port which, looking at older brakes, looks possibly more flush with the caliper body... My question is whether this is actually the case and all older bleed kits are now defunct, or am I just being a daft twunt?

Nothing's changed as far as i'm aware, been bleeding current ones with the same fitting that came on our original bleed kit from years back. You haven't trapped an O-ring somehow?

Looking at pictures, older brakes have the bleed port within a nut sticking out from. The caliper. Newer (maybe read 'cheaper') ones don't have that nut - the bleed port screw goes direct into the caliper...
