....has to be on the cards soon, right? Will Ultegra get a make over, like Dura Ace did, and will there will be a cable and electronic version running side by side? Looking to replace Ultegra 6600 on one of my bikes and fancy giving Di2 a go, but not at Di2 prices - might just get 6700 if the next version is going to be a few years off.
Anyone care to look into their crystal ball and pontificate?

There was an article in Cycling Weekly a few weeks back where they bodged 105 to work with Di2. It didn't work out cheap to do but did work.
2012?!?! Hmm.....
Yeah, saw that article in CW under the headline of "105 Di2" or somesuch. It did seem a bit of a non-story as all they did was buy the electronic DA Di2 bits and sub those into an existing 105 transmission. Bit if a non-story really.
I'm pretty sure electronic Uletgra is on it's way, I think it's already been shown to selected journos but they're not allowed to mention it until a certain date.
After a recent shimano press camp road.cc posted a picture of the 2012 ultegra crank then quickly re cropped the image once they realised you could see the edge of the battery and the wires.
Campy are going electric in 2011....
Thats what I am holding out for..
Everyone i know that has had to fit DI2 to a bike says its a complete arse..
Surely electric XTR has to be a bigger market? Especialy as MTB'ers are generaly more driven function than lightweight.
Unless shimano are holding out for a XTR level alfine/nexus with Di2?
I would expect that there are too many variables to make it work well enough with XTR. Too much crud, chain jumping, etc etc
Would be very supprised if DI2 wasn't offered with the 6800 Groupset, would guess this would be for 2013, being avalible mid 2012, with 5800 in 2014-2015.
For fitting, would suspect most high end bikes in the next few years will be DI2 ready, making it easier to fit than retro fit onto an old frame.
Di2 couldn't be simpler to fit to a bike, it took me 30 minutes to put it on and set it up on a none Di2 frame and it hasn't missed a beat in nearly a year.
