i'm just about to go to the local A&E with a suspected broken elbow from a bit of a crash yesterday, could people recommend me a set of elbow pads please?
cheers
Nick
Having spent 2hrs in Sunset looking for pads for the kids for our Alps trip yesterday (a mate stacked at brechfa) probably the most important thing is a decent fit - try out a few types - we ended up with three diffrent types - all 661 but all fitted differently
Horse, bolted, gate......lol
I would highly recommend 661 Evo's for your elbows though! fairly good protection from the d3o pads, stay in place well, but most importantly dont restrict any movment in your arms at all, basically you really dont know your wearing them. Stay away from the vegie pads though, they are the polar oposite.
+1 for evo,s. as grimy said.you don,t know your wearing them.
Evos are the only soft pads I'd have, they're the best of their kind by miles. But I'd still recommend POC's Bone pads over them, they're bigger and look/feel a bit stormtrooper but they're more open in design than the Evos- so you get more protection but also they're cooler to ride in. As long as you can get past the looks they're a better option all round.
Stay away from 661's Chicken Wings, very daft idea, to make them small they've had to make them very dense and inflexible wbich means to keep them in place they have to be tight, so they're restrictive and uncomfortable. They look good and they'll go under a long sleeve better than most but they're minimal protection, maximum irritation. Hot too.
