[#2139793]

So reading on the Specialised site teh standard shock is 7.875 * 2.25

Now I gues teh 2nd figure is teh stroke but not sure what that actually is?

I have a fox dhx air which is the same length i.e, 200mm but the 2nd figure is 50mm which is near on 2". What will the impact of this be if I fit it and what does teh 2nd figure actually mean?

Thanks
Kwack

1st figure is the overall length uncompressed.2nd is how much it compresses at max travel.Being approx 6mm shorter stroke will yield about 15mm less travel (about 2.5-1 lever ratio) at the wheel whilst maintaining the same geometry.

It would basically reduce the travel. Stroke is how far the shock can compress fully and ultimately determines rear wheel travel.

Thanks for the advice above-15mm less travel on a pitch is probably not worth worrying too much about, considering the Fox is the better shock
