[#12099636]

There's been a bunch of low starting price EE wings listed and sold on eBay over the last week which look pretty suspect.... For example

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cane-Creek-eeWings-Titanium-Crank-MTB-/265380326377?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0

Its always the only item the seller has for sale. Stating price is below £200 or there abouts and photos have been stock. Theres been at least 2 others in Germany and Italy.

All these things have put me off bidding....

This one showed up today....

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cane-Creek-eewings-Titanium-Crank-MTB-/265380264114?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=707-127634-2357-0

It actually has photos of some cranks but the text below the 175mm is not shown - have a batch gone missing in Europe somewhere?

First set - maybe dodgy.

Second set looks like a genuine 2nd hand seller from Germany.

Just my thoughts :o)

This pic puts me off - don't know why you'd hide the serial number? Unless it's stolen, and the fact that 2 other sets have also been sold in the last week with the same 'liw' starting price from different sellers who also only had one item up for sale, oh and haven't sold anything else in 6 months. Low fees back etc - it smacks of a hacked account.

It's the old ebay mantra of if it looks dodgy it probably is.

Your first link (that has now ended) had the text that the second link has removed, both using the same photos. One of them is clearly legit, I suggest that the second is dodgy.

Ah yeah - hadn't noticed that the 1st one had additional photos added, when it was first listed it had stock photos...

Id cirtainly say that they are both hacked accounts now.....

Anyway of reporting them to eBay?

Second one is dodgy AF. Second account has zero feedback as a seller, and I bet the 44 positive ones are for buying cheap tat to build up a profile (or its been hacked).

Last time he bought anything was 12+months ago so prob hacked. The first link was similar, bought items feed back only for the last 12months nothing sold. Looked like the name had been changed to look like a bike shop as the items were not bike related.

I noticed about 5 of these listings over the last few weeks (I've an eewings eBay email notification set up), across 5 different accounts and 3 or 4 countries.

Doubt there is much risk in buying them just in case they are legit.
ebay disputes are weighed very heavily in the buyers favour - so if they aren't right or don't appear you will be refunded...also makes you wonder why anyone would bother trying a scam. As a seller I have money extracted from me automatically just because the buyer cant read properly.
