Mrs Sinatra has booked tickets to get the train from Edinburgh Park to Glasgow tomorrow. Am I right in thinking that there is not actually any parking there? If not, her clever plan may have backfired.
I assume parking in Hermiston Gait is restricted..
Park at Hermiston Gait (outside Currys) and walk over the road.
will we be bothered by parking fines / invoices for exceeding time limits?
Hermiston Gate used to be limited to 2 hours (a colleague got a ticket once when we left a car there).
There are lots of signs up but it seems lots of folk are doing it. Your alternative is to park up Cultins Road up towards the RM depot. That's just "on-street" with no restrictions.
Edit: or just join the queue for the donut shop. By the time she gets back from Glasgow it should just about be her turn at the counter.
I used to work just along from there, we went through spates of people getting tickets, could never really predict it. What time of day? Parking in the industrial estate can be a bit tricky during working hours but after 5pm it's easy
(around 5pm, just park on the bypass, it'll be indistinguishable from the traffic)
Peak times unfortunately, getting train over at 8.30 ish then there all day. I said it would be easier to park and ride from newcraighall but she thought this was a better idea.
There's a good chance she'd find something around the industrial estate at that time, but no guarantees...
There'll be plenty of parking in the industrial extate.

Probably be as quick to just drive cross-country to Glasgow than drive to Edinburgh and park/ride.
At that time? Not my experience. Generally I ended up using the marginal "spaces" that nobody else would park in because my car was a shed, other times even they were taken. I've seen me parked way down towards the gyle because the estate was rammed.
Theres a car park on lochside crescent on the way up to edinburgh park, not sure how much it is, dont think its a huge amount. Its just down the road from the new premier inn there
I agree with driving x country, it is what I would do but mrs s would prefer not to. She is going to head round to Uphall and jump on the train there instead. Actually travelling at 10.30, not 8.30..

£3 for the day last time I went past. 2 mins walk from the station. Opposite side of railway line from hermiston gait and there's usually plenty of spaces.
Remembering that Uphall Station is on the slower line to Glasgow - ~50mins minimum to GQS. Parking there can also be tight.

Use the 'car park' just before the station. It's sound.
