I left my Garmin Edge 205 plugged into laptop over night to charge as yesterday it ran out of juice. Came downstairs this morning and it read "charging complete" on the screen but when I went to turn it on nothing happens. When I plug it back into the laptop nothing comes up on screen and it doesnt appear in "my computer" either.
Any idea's at all or shall I get onto Garmin?
Use Webupdater to check for any updates and to see if it can connect to your 205

and try the reset codes
Mine did this once, a "hard reset" sorted it. Been fine since.
Without wanting to sound pessimistic the same happened to my 305 about 6 months ago. Did the hard reset and it was fine for a month or so then completely died. I phoned Garmin, they gave me a return code and in exchange for £60 I got a good-as-new refurbed 305 with a full warranty in exchange a few days later.
I've treid charging it on one of the pc's at work with no joy, will try the mains charger when I get in later on. Could be dodgey cable?
I'll look into other links and "hard resetting" and see where that goes. Could really do without it dying on me as my shoes are just about to fall to pieces and I need a new light 🙁
Thanks for help so far 🙂
Ok so I tried a warm reset which made the display screen come up and then promptly turned itself off again. I tried the cold reset with the same result.
I tried turning it on normally after this which again resulted in it turning itself off again.
I have just plugged it into the computer again it has turned on, still has all my data on it and appears ok. Result.
Cheers chaps 😀
