Anyone ridden the old railway line from Eddleston to Peebles? Or any other alternative off road route between the two?

Ta

I tried the railway line once and found I couldn't get through. If you go up the hill past the hotel then you'll find the old post road heading down into Peebles. It's signposted.

Here you go

It's not offroad, but the Meldons road has a lot less traffic.

Cheers, I came across that route on a buggy walk with the wee one at the weekend. I'll go off for a proper explore at the weekend. I want to avoid using the car to get to the trails. At the minute it looks like using the old post route into Peebles or linking up with the old railway line past Neidpath.

up the Meldons, turn off at Kidston, great natural trail round the side of Hamilton Hill down into Peebles near Rosetta. Great trail.

The Old Post Road / Hamilton Hill option is referred to in here.

The Meldons road is quite pleasant too, but probably a bit dull on an MTB.

I have also ridden back over the top of the black previously, which doesn't massively help with Eddleston, but there is another track on the OS map heading up the hill Eastwards just south of Eddleston (at Redscarhead) which looks like it could work, and bring you into the forest. I've plotted out a route up that but not tried it yet.
