Have to get a new cassette for my sister’s Ebike. She has an XT drivetrain. Can I just order another XT cassette or are there specific drivetrain components for Ebikes?

I know the chains are different.

XT is fine, same as all shimano, only cassette that is not recommended for e-bikes I’ve used is the garbaruk one, which has quite a bit of material shaved off at the mount

Unless it's a dedicated Linkglide groupset (11sp XT or 10sp Deore) it'll be a normal HG or HG+ cassette (depending on 11 or 12sp respectively)

I would go deore or whatever is cheapest tbh. Xt and slx have alloy cogs I recall. Also if just one of the smaller cogs is skipping it can be replaced individually.

Apparently there are Ebike chains to handle extra load. Not really within my field of expertise I’m afraid

I buy the deore 10 speed as its mostly 1 piece. My thoughts are that it will spread the load over the whole freewheel.
