I saw the video linked on the Orange Avinox thread. The Levo looks interesting and I could imagine using such a thing, once age interferes, for my occasional, short overnighters rather than for longer through routes.
I certainly don't object to the styling or the concept.
Folk are already bikepacking with ebikes though. It just takes a bit of planning.
I met plenty people out touring (wheres the line drawn?) on the Hebrides doing so on loaded E bikes - not only in groups of E bikes but in mixed groups allowing mixed abilities to tour together without concerns.
Its been 5 minutes since a marketing person came up with the last big thing so I guess this was inevitable...
I don't know enough about all the different USA ebike classes, but ebikes (sold as bikes) in the EU & UK have a "max system weight" declared to pass the regs... that's the bike, plus rider, plus anything mounted on the bike... I wonder what the declared max system weight is for the "The S-Works Levo 4 X", if it's coming to this side of the Atlantic? And what about the existing Levos they're selling the racks for people to add to?

Hmm, fair point - this is only what the robots think, so maybe not 100% accurate, but there doesn't appear to be much wiggle room, unless you weigh 70kgs. Personally, it wouldn't bother me too much, but then I don't think I'll actually be adding racks to my ebike anyway

Total weight limit for a Gen 4 Levo according to the user manual is 125kg for Carbon and 135kg for Alloy.
Not that you could go proper bikepacking on an ebike, but could carry a spare battery I suppose
Depends on where the line is between "touring" and "bikepacking".
You could do a night at a campsite / in a hostel for recharge and then a night on the hills. I've seen plenty of e-bike touring options, some supported (as in, luggage transfer, accommodation booked for you), some just as self-guide route suggestions with marked options for recharge.
It's well past time that shops, hotels etc here started offering e-bike charge facilities. Loads of places do on the continent, there are even public charge points. That sort of thing in this country would just get vandalised.
109kg for bike and rider is not a lot - assuming the bike is around 20kg, I'd be struggling to make that weight, particularly in winter!
someone on pinkbike suggested one of those foldout solar panels.
not sure if it was a joke or not. realistically, how long would that take to charge up a full size e-bike?

I'm going with "never".
I’m riding across Europe atm and I’ve passed thousands of people bikepacking on e bikes. In fact I’d say 90% of the people I’ve passed have been on e bikes. Some are properly loaded for camping some obviously going hotel to hotel. I came over the Brenner Pass yesterday and stopped for a kebab at the shack on the top and there was an old guy in there charging his e bike battery as he was eating! It’s amazingly popular around the Alps. Didnt see anyone doing it in Kosovo mind.
On the Great North Trail, when we got to Scotland we saw and heard about people doing it on e-bikes. I think it would have been entirely possible to do so.
I’m seriously considering buying these racks to go on a Turbo Levo Expert as it would work for a few use cases for me, including riding to cycling holidays, and buying it on the cycle to work scheme so that I could use it to commute to work. I also would like to try touring on it to.
I’m actually surprised that no one has come up with a solution like this (using the rack to add to sprung mass) for full suspension bikes already.
Nicolai have been making this kind of thing for years
"Making" - its an ebike with some mud guards and a pannier rack.

Anyone know what make of mudguards are on the bike?

That just tells you that all the people on real bikes are faster than you 🙂

To be fair, you'd probably also struggle to find enough stuff to fill the front and rear racks with the maximum 30kg of gear!
I use my Ebike for bikepacking.
it doesn’t have any fancy names or anything, just an Ebike with a rack and panniers attached.
i saw a guy on YouTube who had an electric cable that allowed him to charge up at a type 2 car charger, if i can find one of those i would buy such a thing, as i could then charge up at any public charge point.
