Anyone tried one?
Thwere is always the £30 light thread elsewhere.
Can't comment on that particular light but as a general rule, XPG = Flood, XML = spot.
Indeedy as per Dave, XPG tend to be more floody, obviously the lens helps too, my only criticism of that light is the 3 modes. I'd prefer one with a hi/med/low(/flash) setting rather than hi/lo/flash.
Experience with the old P7 torches suggest they make the normal (low), too low.
I thought it was the other way round.
Due to the larger die XML tend to be a broader beam which needs a good reflector or optic to get more throw.
XPG tend to be a narrower beam to start with as the die is smaller.
that was my understanding (i don't suggest I'm any expert), and anecdotal evidence of my Troutie mini XPG (& MJ-872's I've seen) is super wide beam and my XM-L's have tighter (Spottier) beams that have loads of throw.
