[Closed] eBay cheap rotors

Used some eBay cheapos on a couple of bikes with no problems. Might be a little heavier than fancy makes but not massively.

Depends what you really mean... I stay away from the cheapest, not because there's necessarily anything wrong with them, but just because there's good options from Clarks, Tektro/TRP, Ashima etc that are barely more expensive. TBH even Formula's own for my brakes aren't expensive.

For the most part, a bad rotor's just going to wear fast I reckon. But there's always the possibility of warping etc. I did get one that was drilled offcentre, that was quite funny- that was a Superstar from back in their rebrander days.

I bought these last year for £18 each. They are now £8. They work as well as superstar/uberbike or disco.

I bought the cheapest ones I could get that looked half decent. They were about 9 quid each. I just got the feeling that all brake rotors were pretty damn similar and it wasn't worth paying double or triple for a branded version.

I was prepared to be proven wrong but they're still on the bike and they've been on a few multi week Alps trips.

I bought one of the cheaper UK available ebay floating rotors. it's quite chunky, small amount of side to side, but not a huge amount, but the rotor is quite thick, so something to be aware of if you're running different rotors and don't have bite point adjust.

A few years ago bought the absolute cheapest rotors on ebay, something like £3 delivered.

They still work fine. There is rust showing on the edges of them, so they are more stain-less than stainless. The bolts they came with went rusty quickly.

I only use resin pads with them, I suspect sintered would eat them alive.

I have used them, no issue other than being a bit oily so it got a good clean with brake cleaner before being fitted. Other than that, no issue and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another at £6 odd compared to £25 for a genuine SRAM one.
