Just got this email from someone on eBay regarding a frame I'm selling - it's not just me is it? This is gonna end in a "please can you post to my doctor friend in Nigeria?".
Am I being overly cautios?

,I need you to understand that I am willing and ready to purchase it right
away, put it off the AD site, consider me as your favorite buyer, I'm
seriously interested in buying this and due to the nature of my work, phone
calls making and visiting of website are restricted but i squeezed out time
to check this advert and send you an email regarding it.i would be glad to
pay for it as soon as possible though i will not be available to come for
an inspection due to my tight schedule.Kindly get back to me with the
following questions below:
1) What is the condition?
2) Are you the Owner?

your PayPal ID and total cost so that I can make the payment asap. I will
be waiting for your reply!

Dodgy as a dodgy thing in Dodge City.
Personally, I'd be ignoring that. If he wants it hes needs to work with the eBay way of doing things or buy from elsewhere

Nope.
Sounds like Kobayashi from The Usual Suspects wants to buy your bike, think he died though, could be a scam.
If it's not otherwise obvious (which I think this one is as the OP rightly sniffed out), a clue on a lot of these is no specific reference to what it is you're selling - all references are to "it" - this email would be the same whether you're selling scented candles, a bike frame or a bag of secondhand porn mags
I'll take the porn mags, please send them to my doctor friend in Nigeria, thanks.
Thought so. Just to add they did state the item in the email title.
I've sent a lovely reply back.
Cheers
This crops up every week. Surely you know it's dodgy.
I've never seen it before. Tend to not use eBay so I never open the threads.
Scam.
Often got these responses from ads id placed on the gorillafirm website and others.
