I had bid (and won) a kodak easy share camera and printer for £2.20 with postage marked as £3.50. Now the seller has contacted me saying postage is £5 more expensive and could I send through the extra money. I assume I am well within my rights to tell him/her to p*** off with that request?

Of course. But you can force them to sell at a loss, they might prefer to keep it and take the negative feed back. Depends what it is worth to you.
