I have a strange noise coming from my bike when not turned on. I have even removed the battery. It happens when touching parts of the bike, frame, handle bars etc and when completely stationary.
The sound is like a whining noise, similar to the noise made when brake pads rub on the disc. Not 100% where it comes from, but with the battery out I guess the motor.
The bike is brand new and has done less than 15 miles.
Any knowone what this is and if I should be concerned about it?
Worked out the noise is coming from the motor... hmmm what is it

Bosch is very rattly, shimano not nearly is much.
My other half had this with an EP8 equipped bike, within the first 10 miles. Madison swapped the motor.
At first it appeared to only happen when touching the bike with the bike still ie against a wall. But now I think its very slight movement caused by touching that makes the noise. I dont think it does it while the bike is rolling.
It's a Bosche CX 4.
My Specialized Levo SL made a whining noise when pedalling with the motor off. E-bikes motors have a freewheel in them and it was sticking. Specialized replaced the motor under warranty.
Is there a bee stuck inside?
