[#1623359]

I took delivery of my DX lights this morning. The instructions are a little thin on the ground (ie there are none). Once I've bought my adapter tonight, how long do I need to charge them for?

I've bought this:

and these:

They do take ages to charge!

BTW they're protected so you can't over charge them.

Nice one. I'll leave it on over night then so it's done properly.

awaits doom-mongers who'll tell you the charger will burst into flames and burn down your house if you do that... (no it won't)

I am going to get one of these on payday.

I heard a few reports that water can easilly get in and kill the battery so you might want to waterproof the battery pack somehow. I was planning on a healthy dose of gaffer tape although I am a bit worried that it might overheat when charging with all that extra insultation....

Old section of inner tube. seal up the ends.easily best waterproofing for battery, and also provides non slippage against the frame.

simples.

OK, the house didn't burn down - good job too as it's thatched - but my charger did burn and get hot enough to melt into the mess you see above.

3 ppl on that thread, and another complaining about a Lumicycle charger doing the same.
Considering the amount of lights they've sold, you were just unlucky IMO, and that 'unlucky-iness' shouldn't be a reason not to buy one.
