I quite like the look of the Magicshine (assuming it's the same), but don't fancy the fire hazard of the charger. Has this been addressed or are you just taking the gamble?

Herman one or two ppl reported an issue on here, the rest of the hundreds of ppl who bought one have never had an issue, & happily use there bargain light. Yes there built to a price, yes there have been occasional problems with them, not many and no more than any light built by any one else (lumicycle/hope or lupine) when you consider how many units they built & sold (it ain't just us that use them, the good old US have took a shine too).

The battery on mine has died (after a year), but I knew I should have taken more care of it, and a replacement will cost £20 from DX... I can live with that. Unlike my Lupine unit that didn't last long before it needed a new lamp, then another, & then the battery died all within 2 years.
What was more of a gamble, the £500 on the lupine HID or the £50 on the Magicshine?

I must admit I had a dry joint on my charger but 5 minutes with a soldering iron sorted it. Great light & it stayed on at DtoD so well pleased-that's why I intend to buy another for my helmet
