[Closed] Durness Bike Hire?

Heading up around the West Coast and the Isles this weekend for the next few weeks - unfortunately not enough room in the camper to take a bike, but might try some bike hire in a few places. Quite fancy a ride from Durness to Cape Wrath - googling suggests that Durness bike hire was threatened with closure after theft of all their bikes a few years ago. Anyone able to confirm whether this is the case as I can't find any online information about local bike hire?

There's a post on the Durness Development Group website saying that it closed following the theft. We've provided hire bikes to customers heading up that way, suggesting there has been no replacement.

OK, as I suspected as I'd seen their web-postings but just in case there was a glimmer of hope....I do have a Breakaway-style CX bike in a case, but don't want to leave it in the van all the time, nor leave it during the day in the awning...

Ah, I spent a whole summer in Loch Eribol a long time ago.... walk to Durness or Tongue every time I had to use a shop ... good memories.

Not enough room to take a bike???!

Take it and a big lock for overnights/leaving it.

Did Durness to Cape Wrath n back a few weeks ago. Doubletrack all the way but nice. Little ferry at about 11am takes loads of tourists over and if there are other cyclists it's worth the ferryman's time, if not then he may not lay on a return for ya.

Me and the o/h went over, met a tourer. Really nice ride regardless of Doubletrack 'cause you're actually going to 'a place' ๐Ÿ™‚
