A bundle of us from various offices at work are looking at a South Stanes weekend before Easter. Any reccomendations for reasonably priced, bike friendly accomodation for Fri/Sat nights ?
There are loads of B&Bs in Bumfries and decent cheap hotels.
There is accomodation at Mabie. These hut type things. If you need a hotel then the travelodge which has a table table restauraunt. Its called the Solway Gate is very cheap and the food is pretty decent.
Hi big is a 'bundle'? We've stayed at a big house called The Mount which is at Sandyhills which sleeps 8. Great house and minutes from the Dalbeattie trails, its also right across the road from the beach. Great house. I have the owners number if you're interested.
Gary - that could work, as we are likely to be around that number. Any chance you could mail me the details ?

Pool table and a sauna for when you not riding
sent you the details Iain.
Superb Gary, much appreciated
Greenhead - cheap, massive, super comfy, sauna, pool table, log burner... Our default place to stay when we go around there.
If you can get in Marthrown of Mabie then stay there, and try get the roundhouse. Its brilliant, we have been a few times. They have a Neolithic style roundhouse with fire in the centre which sleeps 16 and it adds a really good element to your stay (or they have bunkhouse style accom) - They do an amazing breakfast too.
Oh and they have an outdoor wood heated hot tub to seal the deal (plus sauna and a plunge bucket fed from a local spring - chilly)
However because of this it does get booked fast
The bothy at dalbeattie. A short uphill drunken bimble from the Anchor inn in Kippford.
Kippford Holiday Park - Get a few caravans between you!
lots of great ideas and have made a few calls, so nearly sorted, thanks all

Would avoid the Travelodge, read some reviews and the food is diabolical imo.....
Try Hazeldean, Rivendell and Torbay Lodge for b&b

Trekster gave me some help tips on places to eat arround the dumfries area.

We've stayed at the wigwams at Gorsebank as in the link above. Great place, wigwams are brilliant but no privacy if you're sharing with people you don't know that well.
have a look for holiday houses/cottages.
a large group of us are staying in a nice massive house, for 3 nights, £43 quid each for the weekend.
there are loads of options.
edit: something like this:

£400 for a week, sleeps 10.
why the hell would you stay in a wigwam?
