[#4052482]

I've got a dual position sektor-120-150.
I'd like the shorter travel to be shorter

I can change out the dual position to uturn if I'm not mistaken. That would give me 110-150.
Can I shorten the travel on that to have 100-140?

Can the dual position be modded to give 100-140?
I like the dual position idea, but unless I really heave on the bars it sometimes doesn't change travel.
the spring is the correct one for my weight-red.I'm 65kg-72 with kit.
does the spring bed in a bit over time?only been out 3-4 times.

thanks.

no takers?
seems to be a bit of a faff to take apart my pikes, change springs over.ah well.

what would happen if I chopped off 10mm off the dual position spring?

you would have 10 mm of free play in your forks as they would still extend to 150but only have a spring for 140 mm
DONT

you may be able to get an internal spacer for the U turn kit but i dont know

This might not be relevant to you as I think you0 have the Dual Position Coil spring.

I am experimenting with a Dual Position air spring. I have installed it in a pair of Pikes, and put in a spacer to restrict max travel to 130mm. My 'garage test' gives me 130mm max and 100mm min. My spacer was a 20mm piece of narrow plastic waste pipe installed between the air piston and the topout bumper. It seems to work in the workshop.

I haven't trail tested yet as I'm recovering from an operation. I think that there may be issues as the relative volumes of the two air chambers are different. I think it might be better to make the spacer a volume reducer too and this should address the issue. I will need to do some calculations first to get it right. This will require a bit of lathe work with some nylon rod, but that will have to wait until I am back at work.

Have fun modding.

On the stanchions it has the sag % for both the 150 and the 140 travel.
So I suppose it's the same chassis.
I think it's a straight swap for the 140/150 spring.

I think you can fit more than 3 travel spacers in the air forks.

I swapped the pikes and the sektors over on my hustler.
Sektors are quite a bit flexier, maybe it was the extra 10mm.

An inconvenience of having a 40mm diff in a dual position is that it would require an even heftier push to change travel.bit easier on a fs as there's a bit more weight transfer going on.

troutwrestler,get well soon.

can you keep us posted on how that mod goes please troutwrestler..

I have a dual position air rev fork 120/150 and I'm looking at a shorter travel frame at the moment.. It would be really handy to be able to modify the fork rather than replace it..

cheers
