OK so how do I tighten a shimano centre lock rotor onto a 15mm DT240 front hub? I have the tool, it just doesn't fit between the lockring and the hub. I assume the axle comes out somehow...hammer?

Are you having trouble with your standard cassette removal tool? If so, it's because you often need a cl specific one which fits over hub axles.

To fit a centrelock rotor to a 15mm axle hub you use a lockring with notches on the outer edge and tighten it with the Hollowtech II BB installation tool.

Yeah, I know, I've got the lockring, I've got the tool - the tool however does not seem to fit between the hub and the lockring, think i need to remove part/all of the axle - what bit do I hit?

Dt 240 hubs with 15mm axles normally come with a lockring that is different to the normal shimano one, to acommodate the larger axle.
