Ok, so normally, clean drive chain and apply, leave an hour or a day or whatever.
Then you ride, everything stays shiney, runs smooth and looks dry.
But I've done this, come back from the ride (road) and its all black and runny.
Did I simply not shake the bottle? Can't think what I'm doing wrong.

Did you wipe off the excess when you applied the lube?

Yeah, wiped off excess.
I've got a 60 mile ride tomorrow, might just stick wet lube on just in case.
